mhuxtable
So I made that same mistake I always make...I walked into the guitar store. I walk into Harry's Guitar Shop today just to check out the EHX Stereo Pulsar...simple enough right? So I was talking an employee and he says "oh you want something that makes REALLY far out sounds, try THIS" and he pulls out the BOSS Slicer. Holy IMPULSE BUY Batman!!! I had read many reviews of this pedal that made it sound freaking amazing but I still had no idea what it did exactly. Once I played it I understood WHY. It really makes a sound that transcends words. You play a note or chords and it makes this sort of arpegiated trail that follows your tempo. There are like 50 different patterns. Freaking incredible!! I really cannot describe the sounds. They range from beautifully musical to choppy and weird. I went in to just check out an $84 pedal and end up leaving with a $215 pedal! Upside: it retailed there for $219 + tax...I got it for $215 out the door cos I payed cash. I got my fix for the week...

skipclone 1
Oh man I should NOT have watched that demo video-that thing sounds like a blast, especially recording-wise. Think Kaki K. might make good use of one of those, ya? Bejeeber
The first example in the demo video there did sound pretty cool. Made me wanna keep listening even with that slightly cheesedawg voiceover guy who sounded like he could almost be hawking RONCO vegetable slicers. Caevan O’Shite
I'll hafta check out the demo vid for the Slicer; sounds interesting. Sort of a weird mix between a tempo-delay and an "intelligent"-harmonizer/arpeggiater? I really, really, REALLY want a Diamond 'Memory Lane 2' analog echo pedal; among many other wonderful features- not to mention great analog delay TONE- it has a feedback-loop. This is essentially an effects-loop on the pedal where the "send/out" is the repeats of the echo, and the "return/in" feeds that right back into the delay's feedback/regeneration, so that each echo repeat gets re-effected on each repeat by whatever you've put in that loop... Pick Punch
Been there and done the impulse buy thing......regretted several guitar purchases.....but after checking out the slicer i would have to say that it is a great pedal and you did better than I did... ....expensive though...but nice. I wasn't impressed with the DJ example but the guitar examples in the video were great! William Von Luhmann www.pickpunch.com

mhuxtable
Y'know, I bet it'd sound fffrrreakin' awesome fed through the stereo ins and outs of a Boss RT-20 "Rotary Ensemble" Leslie/rotary simulator pedal... actually it has got like 6 different modes for stereo outs, incluidng a ping pong and random settings...but 1 of the settings gives the effect the sound is swirling between the 2 speakers....couple THAT with the rotary...it would be like youre on the octopus ride at the fair!!!
