SteveC
On the contrary. I have great respect for upright players. It takes a lot of work to keep up those chops. I had it many years ago, but not any more.
Cthulhu Fhtagn
Just funnin' ya, Steve. The real reasons I got the VM Fretless is that 1) it was $279.00 and 2) AMS threw in the Fender DeLux gig bag. Good enough for JeremyC, good enough for SteveC.
Tom Capasso
I think the Wendler is a great option for you. Certainly solid quality and a unique (non electric bass) sound. I was most interested in the comment about your school system improvements. Keep an eye on that - you may have an opportunity for a bass that no one else wants that needs a bit of love and care. And you might get it cheap. I know space is tight, but you may not be able to pass it up. You could even do the "fixing" a year or so down the road, and it could be something you want to play later on.
