wmp Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I am one slow mo fo. Almost four years to rack up a thousand posts. I'm very grateful to all of you folks for being here and chewing up a lot of topics that are of great interest to me. There aren't many places an old dog like me can go to find good advice and useful information. You've helped to me spend a lot of GAS money wisely and you've helped me with absolutely every aspect of my game. I'm amazed by your talent, wisdom, and generosity. If I start naming names and going into detail, I'll just blab on forever. I'm very fond of you folks. Sincere thanks for everything. --wmp

Joe Muscara Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I just recently passed the 2000 post mark, and feel much the same as you do, wmp. While this place has given me serious bouts of GAS, more often than not, it has been *wise* GAS, as opposed to just wanting the latest thing because it is the latest thing. Heck, how old is the Electro? Coolest purchase I have made so far, and it probably would not have been on my radar if it weren't for this joint. Working from home means being alone, no "water cooler" talk, so this place is it for me. Especially after the demise of my favorite racing series (that forum still exists, but all that's left is to rag on the 'other' series, nothing positive, so what's the point?) and moving away from web stuff to focus on music. I enjoy the help I get here, and try to help when I can. Goes around, comes around, blah blah blah. "I'm so crazy, I don't know this is impossible! ProfD Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 wmp, congrats on Platinum status. I'm probably not of much help in the GAS department. Rest assured, if I'm Boston and someone puts a drink on the KBs and/or plays them without permission, I'll deliver that crushing left hook either before or after your own. It's great having you around here mayne. Hang out through HoF status and beyond. PD "The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return."--E. Ahbez "Nature Boy"

wmp Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 About 250 posts a year. You must have an actual life... Nah, I just type slow. Are you avoiding Boston for any particular reason? wmp, believe me no fame or honor to be there. Fame isn't my thing, but I do consider it quite an honor to be tolerated around here. ... it has been *wise* GAS I haven't bought anything in the last four years without asking or lurking on related threads here first. Folks just bend over backwards to find the right words to describe how something sounds or feels. Almost impossibe to do. As nebulous and subjective as it all is, it reads better than the glossy marketing blurb. You guys just don't know how much time and money you've saved me. Or how much you cost me. I want a QSC amp, a pair of AccuGrooves and a pair of EVs. And I need one of those little Electro things too, because gigs are getting scarce and I can't afford to be leaving money on the second floor for others anymore. wmp, congrats on Platinum status. Thanks, bro. You're definitely one of the guys I was thinking about when I said thanks. You mid Atlantic guys have quite a brotherhood going on. I really hope the stars line up so I can make it to one of your hangs. Damn, I've gotta start posting more! Unless you really do have a life, you've got some catching up to do. --wmp
gangsu Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Cheers to you wmp, on 1000! Your writing is always as entertaining as it is helpful. I remember the day you arrived. In a sweat for a DP that could stand up to the rigors of the road. You didn't take my advice as I recall. Sorry I haven't been around much but glad I caught your post. I'll post some pics soon of my latest distraction. "........! Try to make It..REAL! compared to what? ! ! ! " - BOPBEEPER
MidLifeCrisis Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I am one slow mo fo. Almost four years to rack up a thousand posts. What you lack in quantity you make up for in quality You are a cool cat to have hang around here. Always good to have another Boston boy and ex DEC guy to hang out with here. If you want to rapidly increase your post count you can always just post hundreds of inane pictures without adding any content. wmp Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 Thanks, Sue! I'm so happy I didn't scare away all the women. I hope you missed my unfortunate remarks about white peoples' church music. Steve, you must let me know if you're ever visiting your old turf. If I wanted to pump up my post count, I'd answer these individually. If I really wanted to pump it up, I'd write myself a little autoposter and catch up to Mr. Git C in a few minutes. Of course, that'd beat up the MP server hard enough to earn the boot. Kevin, I do have a gig for you. I called a few friends to tell 'em I want to play band leader again. I've got everybody I want, except for the other keyboard player. I'm looking for somebody who kicks my ass, and I think you qualify. Tuesday nights. Eighty bucks and a sandwich. OK? --wmp
