duane_armix Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 does anyone know how to produce a similar sounding patch for the song by aha "take on me" on a roland or yamaha keyboard? i use three keys: roland juno-d, yamaha v-50, and yamaha mm6..how can i reproduce the main synthline in that song?any suggestions?thanks
moj Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Can't tell you exactly, but try this tip. Search for an accurately recorded MIDI file and play it on your sequencer to see what GM patch was used. It's a start.
J. Dan Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I'm doing it on a fusion now, but I used to use a Roland JV-30 and then triggered on a Sound Canvas. I remember I ended up layering at least 2-3 sounds for it but was never really happy with it. I'd start with the synth brass patches and layer them so that you have octaves. I think I did something weird like layer in a small amount of steel drum or something, which sounds really silly now, but I recall it added some fatness to it. You could probably acheive the same effect just doing more layers of the synth brass stuff slightly detuned. Dan Acoustic/Electric stringed instruments ranging from 4 to 230 strings, hammered, picked, fingered, slapped, and plucked. Analog and Digital Electronic instruments, reeds, and throat/mouth.
