National Anthem at RNC?

Did anyone catch the National Anthem last night at the RNC? The solo singer had a fantastically big voice but was 1/2 step sharp in places.

No guitarists were harmed during the making of this message.

In general, harmonic complexity is inversely proportional to the ratio between chording and non-chording instruments.

I'm skipping both pageants this year. I'll take your word for it. I'm still recovering from Boys2Men pealing the paint off Fenway Park with God Bless America during the World Series last year. That was a bad time to lose track of my remote.

That's when it's handy to keep a 38 by your side so you can put a slug in the CRT tube, like Elvis used to do.

Reality is like the sun - you can block it out for a time but it ain't goin' away...

And that was for Robert Goulet, who could actually sing. Wonder what he would make of the Ashlees and Britneys of the world ...

He's dead, right? It was easier that way.

DH, that may not have been a mistake. It is an effect many vocalists go after nowadays.:cool:

It's that bloody Autotune. They may have been just slightly sharp but Autotune misread it for the next semitone up.

Elvis or Robert?

The "he" you referred to was Elvis, right?

You're right. I'm just not thinking clearly; I'm still reeling from the 'hey ladies' thing . . .

I think my favorite national anthem f***-up was Willie Nelson leaving out an entire section, I think it was the 1980 DNC. IIRC, he went straight from "...twilight's last gleaming" to the bridge "and the rocket's red glare".

It's NOT on YouTube. One of the few embarrassing moments not there.
