Massage therapy

Is anyone on this forum a massage therapist? I have a friend who is a Chiropractor and keyboardist. He asked me if I thought of going through massage therapy schooling to become a licensed therapist.

I was wondering if anyone here was doing this as a sideline to their music. If so are there any side effects to your wrist or handsfrom doing it?

That's not a profession for me since I've been told I rub people the wrong way.

No guitarists were harmed during the making of this message.

In general, harmonic complexity is inversely proportional to the ratio between chording and non-chording instruments.

BK, I don't think your hands and wrists will suffer adversely as a result of being a massage therapist.

Considering the propensity for breaking keys, that profession might be right up your alley.:cool:

John Novello recommended Active Release therapy to me, and it helped a lot. Active Release is done mostly by chiroprators but they have to be specially trained and certified. Make sure of this, otherwise the motions and force could be harmful in the wrong hands. Goggle 'Active Release Therapy'. It's basically very deep isolated kneading of tissues designed to break up adhesions in the fascia. John told me it helped him a lot when he was having some arm issues, and it helped me a lot with wrist issues.

I heard back from him. He says it's no worse for your hands than a steady regimen of self abuse :)

Seriously, he says you'll be hurtin' for a couple of months and you'll be good after that. It actually builds a lot of strength.
