Eric Iverson Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Does our GAS affect global warming?.... inquiring minds want to know!
Terrell Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I don't think you could buy the pickups for $250.... Could that be right?
fantasticsound Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Let's be clear... These are Duncan-designed p'ups, not Seymour Duncan p'ups. These p'ups are as different from actual Seymour Duncan USA p'ups as Epiphone p'ups are from Gibson p'ups. I can't speak for these Hot Rails knock-offs in particular, so YMMV, but every Duncan Design p'up I've played has been a real disappointment. Maybe not compared to what they otherwise would've put in such a guitar, but certainly not worthy of the SD nameplate. This has been a common tactic of p'up manufacturers for a decade or two. Put out a cheap knock-off of your own product with the word "design" behind your nameplate to make people think they're getting the genuine article when in fact they're getting a p'up you designed but built by low skilled labor in the far east. Duncan is not the only one I've used whose "design" p'ups have been universally disappointing, even for the price. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
