Minimal001 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 hi there, i´m a guitarplayer from germany and brazil (father: german, mother: brazilian) - i play jazz, rock, funk and other stuff. i´m new here, so i want to introduce myself with a little video, i recorded last week: hope you like it (c: - it´s an instrumental song with three musicians: alex de macedo (me) - guitar (JSM 100) ulf stricker - gigpick (drums in a box) goran vujic - bass www.myspace.com/alexdemacedo
Terrell Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I like it! Work on the lighting and keep the music funky!
Fumblyfingers Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 That was great......you have serious rhythm chops and nice chord voicings....for me that was nice and fresh compared with a lot I hear nowdays....... kinda old school fusion meets Chili Peppers, a sound I was going for at one time also. Very nice Goran is sick, was he reading that or just looking at chord charts? Sweet drums, nice band are you guys playing out a bunch? For some reason the video would not load past the first few minutes...so I did not get to see any solo work, I will try again. Oh yeah, got it....nice stuff, cool outside lines.....good listen thanks. Be sure and post more.

Strategery Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 By FumblyFingers... That was great......you have serious rhythm chops and nice chord voicings....for me that was nice and fresh compared with a lot I hear nowdays....... kinda old school fusion meets Chili Peppers, a sound I was going for at one time also. Very nice Meaning that it was a sound he was going for one time in his life, but grew out of. Fumbly....you read my mind, that's exactly how I would describe that song off the vid. Hey man, THAT ROCKED!! My hat's off to ALL OF YOU! I'm not even in your league but I know good playing when I hear it, and I just heard it on your video! Welcome and thanks for sharing the vid. Randy "Just play!"
Fumblyfingers Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Meaning that it was a sound he was going for one time in his life, but grew out of. Nah, that is not what I meant......I still love that style, it is a natural thing for guys who like a lot of different styles and are fairly advanced on the instrument. Rock and blues, three chord Charlie's etc etc...while they are all fun at some point they fail to satisfy some players who will gravitate to something technically more challenging yet still has serious groove. What shines through most for me on this video is his sense of rhythm, the whole band for that matter...very cool......I have never grown out of this type of stuff.
picker Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 You and the band are tight, dude. Welcome aboard. The folsk ehre are pretty nice people. You'll enjoy it here. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
