skipclone 1 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I was sitting here in Lombok, Indonesia, watching some local music videos and there's a feed at the bottom of the screen, basically news about a bunch of Bollywood actors I never heard of and then there's this item that the sax player and one of the founding members of the Dave Matthews band has died of injuries from a car accident? anyone else hear about it? that guy was a phenomenal talent. Caevan O'Shite Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Yeah, it was a surprise to me, and your post was the first I had heard of it (don't feel alone in being behind the news). I also didn't mean that to to be patronizing, trite or minimizing, not at all; just, what else did I have to say? I'm sure that there have been a lot of people hit very hard and personally by this, especially their family and friends; I am sorry about that. skipclone 1 Posted August 24, 2008 Author Posted August 24, 2008 Well I`m back in Tokyo. Things took an umpleasant turn the last couple of days but I`d go back in a second. Cool place. Anyway I probably read your post too fast and took it in a way it wasn`t intended. I know what you mean, sometimes when stuff like this happens anything you say seems like you should have said something else. No critique intended. Chad Thorne Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I was never a big fan of DMB, but recognize the talent and artistry in their music. It's always sad to lose another talented musician at a young age and at the height of his creative powers.
Bluesape Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Damn! First I heard. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
