edwindrewes Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Can you play sounds from an MPC via a midi controller as you would another sampling sound module? If so, where do you get the sounds other than drums or effects (guitars, horns, etc)
MusicWorkz Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Yes you can, but it is cumbersome. You have to assign each pad a note number and load each sample to that pad in order to play it. For simple lines, it isn't hard-you can even cheat and just load the note you need as opposed to the entire octave or two. Sounds? Like any other sampler on the market-sample them yourself, buy them or scour the net...YMMV. Yamaha (Motif XS7, Motif 6, TX81Z), Korg (R3, Triton-R), Roland (XP-30, D-50, Juno 6, P-330). VanZea Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 For the MPC1000 there's JJ-OS2, an alternative operating system which supports this use.
Yoozer Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Save yourself the trouble and get a JV or SonicCell or something. They've got better synths inside, too.
zeronyne Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 The MPC4000 is a good one for this use. "For instance" is not proof.
