MIDI SysEx via Memory Stick or iPod

Here's a stretch. I am trying to come up with some way of doing SysEx dumps to and from a Fatar Studio 2001 without having to drag a computer to gigs for that single purpose. The Studio 2001 has a memory card slot but the cards are long since discontinued. (a very nice forum member is trying to locate one for me but in the event that doesn't work...)

Does anyone know of a MIDI interface and MIDI file player utility for the iPod or if there is a device that can accept a USB thumb drive and transmit SysEx data contained on the thumb drive via a MIDI Out port?

Or if anyone has an original memory card for the Studio 2001 that they don't need please let me know.

Thanks,

Dave

It's called a "laptop computer". You can get them pretty cheap these days. With a bit of luck you might even have a friend who's about to get rid of one that's too old to be much use but still works, and get one for a song.

Something like this:

If it is an old style PCMCIA SRAM card, this may be a source:

They made cards that worked in the Alesis GSR and others.

Good Luck

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately they don't do Fatar. Good thought thought.

Well yeah, but I don't want to carry a laptop and MIDI interface just for this single purpose. Having the setups stored to a memory card is more practical. Then again I may have to go this route if all else fails.

a midi sequencer, I guess, which can be in for of keyboard workstation, separate h/w unit, or software.

Stage: MOX6, V-machine, and Roland AX7

Rolls PM351 for IEMs.

Home/recording: Roland FP4, a few guitars
