reko Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Dear friends, I hope someone can help me on how to. I made a patch change for one song in cakewalk, say track 1 - channel 1 : bar 1 - 4 - patch : trumpet then bar 5 - 8 - patch strings. (same track - same channel) there are no notes on the track, just the patch change because I want to play the notes live on the keyboard, and by the time bar 5th, I want the sound change automatically. problem arise in my yamaha psr-640 no matter channel number i assign, (either in cakewalk or the midi recieve on yamaha) when i play the keyboard, the sound produced was included with the sound which is in the state what sound is in the keyboard LH / RH 1 & 2. I mean if the sound now is for example : piano on my keyboard and i see the LCD display on the keyboard that telling RH1 is piano, then when I hit play button on cakewalk then i start playing the keyboard for bar 1 to 4, the the trumpet sound is there but also the piano sound which was produced by the keyboard itself. by the time i reach bar 5 to 8, yes the sound change to string, but still when i play the keyboard, the piano sound still included. and also, the keyboard LCD display don't change the sound name on the display. It's just sit still there with the name : PIANO. It seems the midi data sent from cakewalk work as a hidden data in my keyboard. I've tried to do recording via cakewalk by changing manually the patch within the keyboard, I saw the patch change in the cakewalk track's evenlist with some of other controls after the recording. Then I playback the recording cakewalk, and the problem still the same on the keyboard. Is this normal ? I hope somebody can help me. to simplify, how do I must do in cakewalk to make a live performance on the keyboard, which need so many times & kinds of patch changes that my hands won't be fast enough to push the button to change the sound on the keyboard. anykind of respond will be greatly appreciated. thank you in advanced. regards.
