You should probably go ahead and buy that 12-voice PEK rig now. Then you can hook up the MEK and have the magic 13 voice system. Or sell what you have and make some music with it.

Oh, spare me your sarcasm. As i recall, you also constantly share with us your "meditations" about wether you should sell everything you've got, start again from scratch, keep the jp8, loose the jp8, bring it to the gig, leave it at home, build a 2 keyboard rig or build a 3 keyboard rig, etc.

Zahush good buddy, I fear you have lost your sense of humor! Internet forums aren't all that serious anyway. Its fun to take a poke at someone far away just for the hell of it. Chill a little. :rimshot:

No sarcasm intended. It was an attempt to be funny and maybe even a little bit serious (like who would not want a 13-voice Evolver!)...I think it must have been too early for me to include the emoticons.

But glad to know you're stalking my threads (HINT: that was a joke too) and enjoying my meditations, but that is irrelevant to your missed opportunity to get the killer DSI rig. :D In any event, I'll try to keep those threads in circulation since I have a captive audience.

So did you buy it yet? :D

Mr. Zahush76,

I know eric. Eric is a friend of mine.

He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Plus, he wears very cool shirts. :thu:

Perhaps you are in need of a cold beverage.

We're all brothers and sisters here; with the occasional crazy uncle thrown in the mix for good measure.

Try to relax a little, OK? :)

It is not too late. Try to win the PEK. If successful and necessary, sell the MEK and P08 desktop. The eBay turnaround is rather quick.

Man is it hot all over? There seems to be a few grumpy people on the board lately!
What's that supposed to mean?

In that case - i apollogize.

First of all, selling my MEK & P08 DESKTOP isn't that easy to do from israel. Not a lot of people over here know that there is such a thing, since there's no official dealer for dave smith products anymore.

Second, if i'll sell them - i'll loose money in the process for sure. If i would have waited (which is only in theory...) than it was a matter of adding 300$ to what i originally spent. So that explaines my initial "damn".

All of this brings me to another subject: indeed, after half a year of playing both the MEK and the P08 i can only say i wish i had more evolver polyphony...

Thanks zahush, no worries.

As for your Evolver polyphony issue, as a former owner of a PEK + PER as well as an MEK + PER, I can say that 8 voices of Evolver is really plenty, unless you need a lot of real-time sequencing horsepower. It might be worth copping the 12-voice rig and then selling off one of the PERs.

I've not been following them closely in terms of resale, but before the economy downturn, it was not unusual to see PEKs on eBay for about $1500-1600 and PERs for about $800. So the $2999 for the 12 voice system is not that unreal. I'd say buy the thing, sell a PER and you can be very happy with 8 Evolver voices at a decent discount.
