Jazz+
Hi everybody, I don't know which brand or model of custom molded IEM to buy. I am jazz pianist and do a lot of trio performances playing a Roland FP4 digital piano along with acoustic bass and drums. My digital piano tends to sound thin by nature in the upper mids. I want some custom IEM with good clarity, warmth and smoothness. Nothing harsh or edgy. Nothing hyped in the highs nor fatiguing. I want something I can wear for 3 or 4 hours and still feel relaxed, not fatigued or stressed. rumpelstiltskin.
i just got a set of custom molds. they cost me $150. i got them to accommodate both attenuators and my etymotic ER6 earphones. you can get ER6 for less than $100. you may prefer a higher end earphone, but in any case you should do research to see what it will take to fit them. i know custom molding was a popular option with now-discontinued shure earphones (E2C, E4C, etc.), and the new ones will work like that, too. i don't know about other brands of earphones. i have been very happy with my etymotic ER6. robb. because i like people.
