ThisSiteSucks
Ok, I know I'm going to forget this from tonight's lesson. If it's in the theory thread, sorry about the post but... We covered appregiated chords tonight: Major: Root Third Fifth Root Minor: Root Flat Third Fifth Root Seventh: Root Third Fifth Flat Seventh Minor Seventh: Root Flat Third Fifth Flat Seventh Do I have this even remotely memorized correctly from my 1/2 hour lesson? LOL And I think I'm missing one. But my teacher said this is fairly important stuff for a lead player to know what notes one can use to solo over a given chord progression. And I thought Pentatonic scales was all I had to learn...yeah, right! LOL
soggybomb
well, pentatonics get boring quickly. this kinda stuff spices things up and keeps it interesting to listen to and to play

Zephyr
IMO it's a lot easier to remember them like this: Major: 1, 3, 5 Minor: 1, b3, 5 Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=810593 http://www.myspace.com/dandelavega
