This is mine, $250 guitar that plays a lot nicer and had decent tone out of the box.

The circuit has some quirks,ie the neck and humbucker is quieter than just the neck, but it sounds and works pretty good. I have it in open D now, at least till I get through the Johnny Winter thing in the new GP, with the action up a bit so I can slide or not. She weighs in the 9+ pound range.

Just thought I'd share with the class and I guessing there are some other freaks out there. Let's see 'em.

Damn it didn't fit but you can still tell what I was saying

Wonder what the new Linkin Park album would sound like if they didn't have Perfect Circle to steal from.

You've got some cool and useful mods there, bet it's very versatile! (Hmmn, maybe a B-bender get-up would really round-out the whole package... ) And I second the props for the Vargas-Girl bomber decal, as well!

Here's mine....

-Highway One body I picked up on ebay, damaged (cheap!), so I stripped it and refinished it in very thin lacquer.

-Japanese 57RI neck I traded a friend for, it had some "relicing"

already done, so that set the tone for the project.

-Custom Shop Fat 50's pups

-All gold American Vintage hardware that I had on another guitar that had rusted suprisingly quickly (thats why they weren't in use, and fitted nicely on this)

It's now blocked and I've got those smooth-wound 13s on it, bridge set up flat and tuned to Open-G....yeah baby!

I think the regulars here are fed up seeing this one....the one on the left:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/geoffbyrne/P1010002-2.jpg

GFS tuners, pickguard, neck hand-made in Belfast N.I., body fron Ca.US., trem is a big old brass block so wide it hardly waggles - it's screwed down with 5 springs too.

Pickups are Dimarzio - SDS-1s in bridge & middle and a TDS-1 in neck.

Vol is push/pull to bring in all 3 or neck/bridge.

Middle knob is actually a Varitone switch as in Gibby 335.

Bottom knob is an active mids boost: pos1 is unity bypass; pos 2 is mids cut; pos 3 is high mids boost; pos 4 is plus low mids boost and pos 5 is a huge mids boost. Battery is in with the springs.

Plays great.

Really nice work Geoff! Thanks for sharing again.

Good matching color scheme on both with tortoise shell pickguards. You have good taste.

Do you have matching tortoise shell picks?

I mean I've never seen a tortoise shell suit, but if the turtles can wear them.. Hmm..

Yes, tortoiseshell picks!!! LOL!!

The Squier Standard Tele has a Fender '52 RI pup in the bridge, a GFS wide pole in the neck and a 4 position switch.

It *might* be getting an active overdrive in place of the tone pot soon.

that Strat is gorgeous Geoff, and another Squire tele like mine, cool, surprisingly nice guitars I think, good as a mexi

I like the black strat too, looks like it has stories to tell and the pic could be right out of a Fender ad, nice work

thanks guys for the good comments, I too love the nose art
