mplspaul
Sorry, super basic question. What pattern are the mics set to when you have a bunch of players set up around a single mic and diving in and out of a circle? I'm guessing cardioid is too tight to get adequate coverage but I can't see how you don't get serious feedback problems with anything wider. No monitors maybe? Love to watch it though. Graceful like team pursuit on a velodrome.
David R.
Live, on stage, cardiod would be good. Hyper cardiod is too narrow. When performing around one mic, the players are usually in a semi-circle, monitors in front of them (in the back of the mic which is the "blind spot"). Hope this helps. -David R. -David R. JohnnyB_dup1
I've used omni without monitors. Most of those groups practice enough that they listen to each other really well and know what to do to get a good blend without needing any monitors.
