jeffincltnc
I love surfing through YouTube. Here are some of my discoveries: Groovin' done right with Donny Hathaway. This is just beautiful to me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meKUsZkXgEc George Duke and Stanley Clarke! If you can get over the first two minutes of guitar soloing this turns into a masterpiece. Why do guitarists with big afros have to play at all when George Duke is in the band??? Damn, this was special once Duke got rolling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC001Z3XWKE Oh my! What on earth were they thinking?!?!?!? Were that 80's REALLY that bad of a low point? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZEGHnAxEpo Yamaha U1 Upright, Roland Fantom 8, Nord Stage 4 HA73, Nord Wave 2, Korg Nautilus 73, Viscount Legend Live, Lots of Mainstage/VST Libraries
Tusker
Thanks for sharing those. Donny Hathaway rocks. I wish there was more of the ineffable George Duke on the tube. Jerry
Steve Force
LOL Thomas Dolby was a hoot! And Yeah! More George Duke!! Regarding the "School Days" video featuring Stanley Clarke and George Duke (with "Welcome Back Cotter"'s Arnold Horshack on the Les Paul )--I have loved that tune since it first came out in the mid-1970's!!! Great find! Probably of little of interest for keyboardist, but check out these three monsters playing "School Days".... Seems like Stanley is enjoying being onstage with Vic & Marcus moreso than they are. Almost as if Victor & Marcus were his legendary childhood inspiration, not the other way around. But then Stanley has always incorporated great bassits onstage with him in concert. Good stuff! TROLL . . . ish.
Steve Force
Stanley always smiles like that when he is playing. That (plus his chops) is one of the coolest things about him.. MusicWorkz
Beautiful...Donnie's voice is hauntingly beautiful. One of the few singers I NEVER tire of hearing. George Duke? A shark amongst the keyboard food chain... Yamaha (Motif XS7, Motif 6, TX81Z), Korg (R3, Triton-R), Roland (XP-30, D-50, Juno 6, P-330).
