Yea Me!

I have now been in San Diego for a week at a rather nice studio. Flew out in a Private Jet. (Oooo Baby) Non-disclosure clause wont let me tell you the grammy award winning artist I am laying some tracks down for but it is scheduled for release March next year. A handful of Grammy winners are appearing on the CD.

Interesting stuff, I will get writing credits on 2 songs. Very different sound and direction for the artist but she can do as she damn well pleases!

One is an acoustic piece I wrote 15 years ago and never finished it. We were sitting talking about old times (I toured with her once) and I mentioned the hook on the piece. I played it and she was hooked. Funny, it took her 15 minutes to get the intro and hook right but only 10 minutes to finish what had taken me 15 years not to finish. Great feeling.

Very laid back no pressure sessions. If my back acts up, they work on some other tracks and I rest.

When I get permission, I will post a few short recordings - teasers and some pictures.

I almost feel alive again!

Peace,

Opps - gear - 2 Martins, 2 strats, SG, Traynor YBA1 head thru a Marshall 4 X12. My regular pedals, nothing fancy, I actually found myself using the SG more than I thought I would.

Excellent news. It can get pretty rough when you have to give up (or cut down) on something you love. Glad to hear that you are back in the thick of it, just take care of that back!

A great friend of mine did some studio work with Marie Bottrell and also with The Mercey Brothers. One of the albums he played on was nominated for a Juno (He did most of the lead guitar work). He was never mentioned. I know it's common for studio musicians to not be mentioned, but it just seems wrong. I'm glad to hear you are getting some credits.

Have a great time, watch your back (literally ;) ) and don't forget to stop in and keep us updated (as the law will allow)!

and coffee, from timmies, of course! ;)

Oh great! Then we're gonna have to set up addiction counselling facilities for those Californians who'll try Timmie's for the first time!

What is this mystical "Timmies" ye speak of?

Tim Hortons. Sort of a big thing here.

Well, O.K., you and Reif can bring the coffee. I'll stock the "guitar and amp pantry"......

What else do we need??
