Hi, New on my site is a video promo with my original audio. Audio was edited and sweetened in Pro Tools to Quicktime video. Video editing was done in Apple's iMovie2. It's short, and available as "RealMedia" and "Quicktime" (preferred). Please look under "Now Showing". All feedback is welcome.... http://www.f7sound.com Michael Oster F7 Sound and Vision http://www.f7sound.com

Here's a new one called Tapdancer that I just put up on my site...it's an actual song with real words, not that scary synth mumbo-jumbo that we do down there in the keyboard forum. I'd love to get some feedback from y'all... dB This message has been edited by Dave Bryce on 06-28-2001 at 10:26 PM

My Father played Pedal Steel/Dobro on over 300 albums in his lifetime and toured the country several times over with the likes of John Prine, Jerry Jeff Walker, George Jones, Jackson Claypool, The Wallflowers Band (with Natalie Merchant) and many more. Unfortunately he died in April 1995 from Cancer at the young age of 55. I've recently come across some tapes from the early 70s of some easy instrumental tunes he wrote and recorded. It's pretty cool stuff...my Dad had a unique guitar tone and played with nothing but heart. Greetings, I've finished mixing my first DP project, and our first new studio recording in over a year. It's called "Far Away" and it's gonna annoy those who say there's no place for jamming in contemporary rock. There are however, no loops, no cheezoid-synths, and not a drum machine in sight. Just real playing, singing, and genuine tweety-birds. Give it a listen at mp3.com/bigsky and lemme know what you think. Either way, there's lots more on the way Steve Sklar/Big Sky

Hi all, Here is my band Skybox and the song "Holy One". We're a christian band, so please don't get offended by the lyrics. It was recorded in my project studio on blackface ADAT's and a Mackie 24x8. What do you think of the performances and writing? Any suggestions? The MP3 is 96kbps so the audio is going to be perfect. If you don't mind, take a listen... http://www.freeweb.pdq.net/radiant/skybox/Music/music.htm Thanks! Kyle

>>My Father played Pedal Steel/Dobro on over 300 albums in his lifetime and toured the<< Wow Steve, you just jogged loose some very old memories. I played bass for a Memphis steel player, Ned Davis back in the early seventies and thru him and his acqaintance with your father, met your father and had the chance to jam with him a handful of times. He truly had a unique style and a wonderful witty sense of humor. So sorry for his passing. Davis who spent his last eight years working for Eddie Rabbit, likewise passed away in 96 of complications due to HIV. God bless them both. ------------------ William F. Yep William, he was a funny guy. I also remember meeting Ned Davis at least once...great player. I don't believe in Heaven/Hell per say but the energy (light) these guys brought to the world didn't just go away when they passed...I imagine their souls are very much alive and still influencing the world for the better. Peace, Steve

Yet another song is available to download from the coming Darling Nikkie album : http://www.DarlingNikkie.com/sounds this time it is "What to do?" a song about finished love and the feeling of being trap. I'm extrimly fond of the efx on the vocals which sound like this wicked analog synth. check it out if you please and enjoy ------------------ Visit http://www.DarlingNikkie.com/sounds for free MP3's

<> Overall the song is heartfelt, but I think it could benefit from having an outside producer to do two things: draw more fire out of the performers, and add some production tricks to sweeten the piece as a whole. For example, at 4:09 you have this very cool pause but don't take advantage of it -- hold the pause a little longer, and the snare drum that leads into the next section should CRACK! with a nice slug of reverb added to really get the point across. A good mastering job would make the track shine a lot more. Don't get me wrong, it's good work. I'm just telling you the things I feel make the difference between "okay" and "wow!"

Well Craig, so that's what you do in your free time... , very cool indeed - and you can allso sing ! What genere would you call this track, I never know. But it has a great vibe to it - hope you're not planing to stop your writing carrer. Keep it up. Steve, cool intro - very pink floyedish, As for Jamming on rock - I'm not against it, and one can truly hear that you guys can play (I could use some good musicians...) but IMO meny cool solos not a single hook. As for the bass - very diffucelt to say with those tiny Imac speakers from and mp3 file, I can hear what it play but I wouldn't know if it is bassy enough. keep enjoying ------------------ Visit http://www.DarlingNikkie.com/sounds for free MP3's

Thanks for listening Mr. Darling. Yep...not too many hooks that are easily digested in this tune...it's the opener for the album...we've got some hooks on the later tunes. I really appreciate your feedback...I've got a bit of free time today, I'll listen to Darling Nicky later and post my comments.

I took time to listen to some more of the tracks out there : Philbo "Life Song" Excellent vocals and even the cheesy piano sound works well. Ìt started as a Bryan Adams but evolved beutigully into Jetro Tull feel. nice and laid back Dan South "Fugue..." I don't know what to say - nice playing , I'm not crazy about the sounds but it is clear that you enjoy what you do.. DJVegar "Astri Groove" I'm sorry to say that you didn't proove your point. good Trance is not that easy to do. You got some nice melodies and parts but the sounds are so importent in this kind of music and your are a bit old fashion. But if you'll take it seriusly - I'm sure you can come up with something brielliant .... don't stop ------------------ Visit http://www.DarlingNikkie.com/sounds for free MP3's

Hi Steve, Thanks for listening . We actouly tried to record our drummer once but for this kind of music the sound of the drums is so importent and we are quite board with traditional drums sounds. so much so, that on live gigs we make him play electronic drums with the same sounds used on the album. It is a matter of taste ------------------ Visit http://www.DarlingNikkie.com/sounds for free MP3's

Is my Music any good? I have received several interesting comments regarding the tune I composed exclusively for "The Keyboard Corner compilation" and will be included in one of the final CD's. I'd like you to listen to it and let me know your very honest opinion. You can check the tune at: http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/Forum18/HTML/001235.html Thanks a lot ! ------------------ Gustavo G Lozada Moderador de: MusicPlayer.com/NuestroForo "La voz en Español en Música y Tecnología" GusTraX @yahoo.com

Yo Macle - I listened to 'Despair' and 'Fingerprints' I like them both. Despair has a really nice symphonic sound and great composition, excellent vocals (you can tell it was born of real emotion). Nicely done! Fingerprints is very original sounding, and has a sort of a quirky happy pop groove aligned with the paranoid lyrics - an interesting juxtaposition. (Sorry, I'm not trying to sound pretentious....) Anyway, keep doing what you're doing - I like it! - Philbo Tangent Music http://artists3.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Tangent2/

Ain't checked out some of the links here in awhile... Macle: For some reason my media player won't load the MP3's but did listen to the RealPlayer version of "Joke" Very nicely done, as mentioned in other posts, very Beatle-ish, specifically Lennon-ish. Don't think the world got enough of Lennon before his untimely death and some where down the road when he's faded somewhat more from pop memory I could see a cycle comiing around where someone could make a cash killing doing that kind of stuff. I read all your lyrics, and find them interesting and the two tunes I didn't hear, have an acute interest in hearing due to the structure of the lyrics. The only downside for me personally is they all seem to have a strong sense of melancholy which is something I have never found attractive in music, Lennon actually went thru a stage of writing that way and was the least favorite of his stuff for me. That's just my fault as a listener, not the fault of any artist... it's like something so full of melancholy is too personal... more than I need to know.... all in all.. though... to me it seems your headed in a very good direction. philbo2: Listened to a handful of things. Enjoyed Fazed. Concerning the stuff of lyrical content, the musics ok, but something in the lyrical structures, ie.. the story telling isn't keeping my interest. Craig: Literally from your articles, Ive been learning stuff from you for decades. "I've Seen The Future" is the first chance I've had to actually listen to a piece of your music. You and I are two different people musically, but it's apparent that I shall continue learning from your great resource of talent. I shall be giving this Keyboard Corner Compilation a further in depth listen. I'd like to say, that though I don't comment too often here I do manage, though somewhat slowly to give most stuff a listen. Ive been keeping a station page, mainly to myself, on MP3.com of stuff and artists I've really come to like, many from this thread. http://stations.mp3s.com/stations/185/an_artist_admiring_artists.html I have had a month, that has shook me and scared me to death, and I'm spending my time this morning, my second day at home recuperating from cancer surgery from which by some miracle I've come out with an excellent and very positive prognosis... from that and taking the time to have a few listens this morning I now find myself anticipating, planning and building this passionate love I have for music rather than trying to figure out how I was going to get it all archived in what I feared could have been a very short time. It truly is a wonderful life, a wonderful world... a wonderful art!! ------------------ William F.
