Zuben
Thanks Don He was young. What a voice. It is so unique. He is also a very under rated guitar player. He is a great finger picker. Spent some fantastic time with him on a 12 show run a few years back. Dummer, bass and me. No backup vocals. The joke was it was an economy tour. One spot light and it never left JT. The only well known session player was Russ Kunkel. He has a great sense of humor but you have to be ready for it because if you don't know him, you may not get the joke. He is a very complex individual that is like a fine wine, he has goten better and mellower over the years. Fumblyfingers
James is a cure all for ADD. I sat completely motionless as I watched that from beginning to end....damn that was good. To me the vocal sounded so close to the vocal performance on the album so many years ago. What a song! I really dig his voice. Nice find.

mdrs
It's a very special song, from a very special man. James is a very exceptional guitarist....I've tried to figure out some of his songs on my own, but it's hard!! He plays in a very unique style.....his own fingerprint. Strategery
I saw him a year ago in Columbus, Ga...just him and a keyboard player. It was great, but not enough time. He told some great stories and had some great pics to share. You're right. I did notice you really had to listen to him because his humor is so dry and all over the place, that if you didn't follow his train of thought....it would go right over your head. He still has a great voice but it looks funny to see him with hair again in that video. By the way, that is one of my all time favorite songs! miroslav
Man...I rememebr how the girls use to go nuts for James Taylor back in the late 60s/early 70s! Boy...when I first saw the title of this thread...I tought "Prayer for Lost..." meant departed, dead... ...and for a second I was stunned, as I had not heard anything about it in the news. I guess you really meant those sort of "forgotten" brothers and sisters... miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important." Shoes
A friend of mine had a way of describing those morning when you woke up and the uncertainty of the events, weather or your own physical and mental capacity were off kilter. He's simply say it felt like a James Taylor kind of day... and somehow that just made everything fall into place with an overwhelming peace and ease. I've remembered that all these years and when I have the chance I toss him on to clean the confusion out of the house. I still think guitars are like shoes, but louder.
