Big Red 67
It does look like a really old model. IIRC those had less bowl ilke bowl and a deeper sides. Big Red's Ride Blog
A String
Wow, that is one good looking Ovation. Some of them I can take or leave, but that sucker sure is pretty. Craig Stringnetwork on Facebook String Network Forum My Music
Eric VB
Sweet pics! I'd be interested to hear how your Custom Balladeer sounds compared to my Elite LX. Looks to be in very good condition (although the fretboard could use a bit of cleaning ). I like the way mine sounds with the D'Addario EXP16 (.012-.053) Phosphor Bronze, so I just keep putting those on it. (You have a much nicer stand, btw.) And your SG is tons better than the crappy SG copy I inherited. Nice lookin' guitars!
Trucks
Look at the STATE of your FLOOR! hehehehehehe They both look very cool Zan, nice one. Good buy on the Ovation, definately. :-) Soundclick Myspace

Mudcat
Nice looking Custom Balladeer! You've definitely got to learn "Gentle On Mind" to play on that one. I like the SG too. fantasticsound
That looks like a 1970's, early 1980's Ovation from back when they built some great sounding instruments. An ex-girlfriend of mine let me borrow one almost exactly like that in the late 1980's. His was already pretty old and boy did it sound sweet. (His was a medium depth bowl though, not a deep bowl.) I sometimes miss her... but then I remember I'd have had to keep the girl, too. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. The Geoff
Lovely Guits. I'm most impressed by the SG, though Like the feedback buster - I'd like to find one for my Yammy APX-4A - oval soundhole. G. Bluesape
The Ovation looks just like my recently bought one, 'cept it's a cutaway. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
Guitarzan
Very sweet! I really like the color of the wood (not the floor...the guitar  ) So...how does it sound and feel to you...? it feels good , the neck has a slight v shape, i think it is strung fairly heavy. i prefer lighter more jangly strings. action seems average. some fretwear on the lower strings obviously. fairly loud. i will have to videotape so i can hear how it really sounds. i plan on getting the headstock redone, the repair is not the best but it does stay in tune. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
Eric VB
fairly loud. That's one of the qualities that I found appealing in my Ovation, its ability to project well.
TheRealShimSlady
Diggin' that mahogany in your SG, 'Zan! I love that about a good SG, especially in the classic cherry-red (and mos'pecially when a bit faded by time). They affect me like a good figured-maple top on an LP, every time I see one I stop and pour over the mahogany's grain for a moment or two... The Big G
Zan Zan the guitar man !!!!!! nice guitars, the ovation looks sweet and your SG looks a nice lump of wood. Warthog
As much as lots of folks berate Ovations I have a place in my heart for them. I really like a couple models, especially the Balladeer. Oh, and sweet SG too!
Sauce
I take it the new Ovation is to your liking then? Both real pretty guitars and I definitely stand with A String as far as Ovations go (and this one in particular ). Enjoy 'em. Then you'll never hear surf music again...
