New White Stripes Single

I just heard "Icky Thump" on All Songs Concidered. It's pretty heavy and has a lot of sick Whammy pedal abuse. Highly recommended!

The new album comes out next month.

Hi guys. Haven't had a lot of time to peruse the forum lately. Bought a house upstate in January and have been busy painting, wiring, etc. in addition to commuting 1.5 hours a day (hey, it's New York!) and caring for a 2.5 year old. Any "spare" time that I've had has been spent trying to decipher the pedal steel guitar I bought last summer (what was I thinking?).

Glad to see that the usual suspects are still here.

"Jack is now a Nashville resident." :)

Lee - I thought that might make your day.

I'm not a fan of the Stripes, but I have to admit I liked Jack's production work and playing with Loretta Lynn. If you like tradiional hard-core country, this album will be right down your alley.

Maybe if the wife is in a bad mood, you could use her ticket?

So far she's enjoyed everything I've dragged her to, but White Stripes may be a tad too heavy for her.

The concert was awesome! The Halifax crowd was a tad more subdued than one would have expected, but they were appreciative, and I was blown away!

Jack puts so much of himself into everything, his playing, his singing...I've rarely seen so much raw emotion let loose on stage. I really like his guitar playing, you can hear abit of those real old blues guys in his playing, each verse coming out a tad different, matching whatever emotion his voice was carrying at the time, little notes and fills and open spaces right where they need to be. I just wished I could play with such feeling!

It's a really good album isn't it? :thu: I've had a copy of it for ages and I really enjoy listening to it every time.
