She was complaining about her malfunctioning typewriter, and rather than have it fixed took advantage of the opp to drag her kicking and screaming into the present. What I'm particularly pleased with, is the zoom feature. She suffers from macular degeneration, and this is a real eye saver. Any other Mac users out there unaware that the screen view can be magnified by simply holding and pressing a couple of keys?? Also, the size of the pointer can be independently magnified. I'm considering picking up a special keyboard for the visually impaired. For now, we've stuck big letter decals on each key. She's the original touch typist, but due to major hand shakiness has to verify each key. Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, popped one of her store-back photo cd's into iPhoto and chose slideshow. Wow! Music, dissolving & zooming pics, a top notch presentation. I really should pick up a Mac For Dummies handbook. Joe Muscara Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 If that iMac came with a Mighty Mouse, you can also zoom by holding down the control key and rolling the scroll wheel away from you at the same time, reverse the scroll to zoom back out. Also, the size of text can typically be increased by Apple (also known as Command or cmmd) clicking on '+' and decreased by cmmd clicking '-'. A ROMpler is just a polyphonic turntable.
