Rampdog
Who is this girl???? I've never heard of her... She seems to know her stuff... If it ain't fun...why do it...? http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=778394&content=music
Swamp Angel
Her website. I dunno, she's good - very good - but trying to ride SRV's coattails that way is an unfortunate choice, I think. Notice that it was she herself who posted that vid and characterized herself as "Miss SRV." I'd enjoy listening to her more without that. Who knows if her last name is really "Austin", for that matter? "You can't be the best. There is no 'best.' picker
Maybe she's called that because when you listen to her, you really miss SRV. I sure did. She's fast, but I didn't hear much soul in her stuff. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
otherstar
I'd have to agree. I would call her a "proficient" guitar player. She's very good, but she isn't that original and her playing does seem fairly soulless to me. I personally prefer this lady's playing: And I'm not just saying that because I've seen her twice. Turn me over, I'm done on this side...
Dr. Ellwood
With her magic fingertips, she captures the heart and soul or her audiences.... she's got those magic fingertips!!!! LOL ..I want some too!! http://www.thestringnetwork.com
A String
I agree Picker, she's fast, but that's it. I didn't hear one drop of soul in there. It was like, every time her fingers touched the strings, she had to cram as many notes in as possible, before she let go. Gruupi
She was ... ok. I'm glad that people are still enthralled enough with Stevie's music to try and emulate him. Its hard to play blues without going into SRV mode, he had that much impact. I'm not to the point yet where I disdain the immitators like alot of people do. Guitarzan
why does everyone have to shop at the SRV clothing store? she would be alot better off to wear a pair of jeans an old Tshirt and some sneakers than cloning SRV. get rid of the hat Miss. i like the strat. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
fantasticsound
She's pretty good as SRV immitators go... but I'd rather not see an SRV immitator. Don't know why. I loved seeing 1964, one of a dozen or so really spot on Beatles immitator bands that cover the sound and look of the Beatles throughout their career. Something about her just doesn't do it for me. Hmmm..... ??? It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
MaxBoogie
Well she does have a little more introspective side... I like this nice mellow flow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwb0t4I56Yo

Gifthorse
She seems like a good player but there are a million players like that. My friend was playing that SRV style better than anyone I have seen on Utube, a year after he died. That stuff is tedious to listen to for me. It has been done into the ground. I am not ripping on SRV of course. He was a guitar god, but it has reached that same kind of copycat apex (smaller) when everyone was copying Eddie. I mean everyone had the whammy bar and they were tapping. I mean even pre Satch Vai. Then after a while that 'calmed down'.. I hope the SRV thing does too. Not to rip on him. But there is something to be said for taking this or that from a player and then making it your own. http://flagshipmile.dmusic.com/ http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse
GuitarPlayerFL
I don't think she sounds that much like SRV....sounds like she's trying to sound like SRV. The hat thing is too much. But, I've heard it said SRV was often accused of ripping off Albert King. It's hard to be original today...just be glad she's not playing rap. A Jazz/Chord Melody Master-my former instructor www.robertconti.com (FKA GuitarPlayerSoCal)
