mdrs
I'm planning on seeing them in locally in June (sorry Zub likely won't be with them....). Since things seemed slow on the old forum, I thought I'd liven things up with some "Feats"!! Enjoy; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEOlTZGuLKM&NR=1 Lowell sure had a great voice, didn't he?? Those clips were from the same year. They were on a tour in Europe. There was a lot of tension in the band at the time and if you watch carefully, Lowell seems disconnected from the band. He is also stating his weight gain period and drugs were starting to take a toll. Sad. He was a great talent with a fantastic voice and tremendous humor. If you want to see some modern clips, check out ROCKY Rocky use to be their stage manager and drum tech. He is one of the best techs and roadies I have ever worked with. He is now DR John's soundman. Less travel, more money. Rocky is a very close friend. Also a walking rock trivia book. Old Feat Albums you have to own - Waiting for Columbus New - Let It Roll and Kickin' It At The Barn Look for a collaboration with Jimmy Buffet coming out toward the end of the year. I miss Lowell a lot. he opened a lot of doors for me and was one of a kind. He loved finding and helping new talent, better if they were female. As of right now, the show Don is trying to make isn't on my schedule due to health problems but I have been known to fly into a show. To get a feel of the talent they possess, check out their discography. Individually, they are some of the most sought after musicians around. You are allowed to be prejudice!!! I did notice that Lowell seemed to have his back to the other guitarist a lot....That voice was just one of a kind awesome. Was the other guitarist on the old clips Paul Barrere? He plays some of the "tone" that I most associate with Little Feat music. Even some of the slide I always thought was Lowell, seems to be Paul. Interesting.... A great jamming band....Waiting for Columbus has been on my regular play list for over 20 years. One of my fav's to blast on the old stereo and crank up an amp and jam to!! b3_john
After seeing Payne show up sharing keys duty with Utley (oh what I wouldn't give to sub that gig!) on the Live at Wrigley DVD, I wondered if there wasn't more synergy there to be tapped. Looking forward to hearing this. John GP sacred cow of the year: Jimmy Vaughan
