Macbethstx Posted May 9, 2007 Share Posted May 9, 2007 Hi I have a Line 6 Spider Podxt Pedal and a spider II amp but with my amp I get this really dull and bad tone and i'm postiive it's not the tones i download onto my pedal because i have tried so many. if i hook up the pedal to a dual rectifer and a nice cabinet will the sound from the pedal be much betteR? Gruupi Posted May 10, 2007 Share Posted May 10, 2007 My experience with amp modelers like a POD is that they don't sound good through guitar amps. It always sounds muddy or unfocused. Either get an amp you really like the sound of and the effects you want, or get an amp made to work with amp modelers like the Atomic. You may be able to use just the effects part of a POD through an amp, but turn the amp and speaker simulations off. I haven't tried this myself but most people say the effects aren't all that good, ie. you can get better effects boxes. Also I think the spider is the low end of the scale of amp modelers, there are better ones out there.
