Warthog
He should definitely stick to performing. That was supposed to be a lesson?? Cool playing though!
rw2003
Setzer rocks! Yeah... not much of a formal lesson but I'd like to see the rest of the clip. I've been (trying to) playing his licks since Stray Cat Strut came out back in the early 80's! Interesting how Setzer was such an influential guitar player at the same time EVH was peaking. http://www.fenderplayersclub.com/artists_lounge/featured_artists/setzer.htm "Spend all day doing nothing But we sure do it well" - Huck Johns from 'Oh Yeah' Click to Listen to Oh yeah
Strategery
Damn, that was mighty fine! Could you hear how he went from clean to GRIT with just the touch of his fingers? Hell yeah!! Yeah, not much of a lesson but that was cool to watch. THanks, Randy "Just play!"
Dr. Ellwood
"Could you hear how he went from clean to GRIT with just the touch of his fingers?" It's a GRETSCH THANG!! http://www.thestringnetwork.com

Mudcat
"Could you hear how he went from clean to GRIT with just the touch of his fingers?" It's a GRETSCH THANG!! Well, I'd say it's more of a Filter-Tron thing. My HiLo-Tron equipped Tennessean can't pull that transition off. At one time I owned an Anniversary Model with Filter-Trons. That fiddle could definitely respond to pick-attack like Setzer's 6120. Filter-Trons are incredible pick-ups. I'd love to get another Gretsch with those pick-ups.
