Help finding drawbar setting

I'll take a stab at 808000008 which if I'm correct means no percussion (last dbar disables perc...although some modern clones fly in the face of tradition and allow both).

Indeed, it isn't a real tonewheel, it's a demo of the ASB Creamware B3-clone module.

But I like the sound, so that's why I asked.

Didn't know the last drawbar disabled perc -> behold, a true learning experience! :D (To prevent an impression of arrogance, I really could use more of them, by the way :) ).

Thanks.

In a real Hammond, the 1' drawbar is used for percussion, so when the percussion is on, the 1' is disabled in the sound. Many of the clonewheels, including the Hammonds, can enable to 1' when the percussion is active. I've left that setting alone on mine. Like Moe said, having it active sounds weird.

So God helped him and created woman.

Now everybody's got the blues."

To be more precise, the set of contacts (there are 9 per key) that is usually controlling the 1' bar is used for percussion...not the drawbar (or its tonewheels) itself.

I have an Electro... this is one clone that ignores this feature. The 1' comes through with or without percussion on.

That's weird sounding. I can hear both the top drawbar AND percussion, so it's not a real tonewheel Hammond.
You car rewire a Hammond so that the percussion steals a different drawbar.
A ROMpler is just a polyphonic turntable.

And prevents use of 'classic' switching tricks such as changing between something like 888000008 and 888000000 w/perc by simply flicking percussion on as Greg Rolie did early in the Evil Ways solo.

(I'm sure there are many, many...many other examples but I only know that one )

Well, tradition doesn't always need to have the last word.

In the Kurzweil KB3 mode, I can use any of the nine drawbars for the percussion low and high harmonics. Why should I avoid using those possibilities because I couldn't do it on my old C3?

This is nothing compared to using pitch bend on a piano patch. :D
