A buddy told me about using the Fulltone Fat boost the other day. He loved it. And, this guy knows what he's talkin about.

wow, I guess the Klon is the shizzit...

Before I jump into conclusions I need to experiment a bit more w/ my FD-2. I like it, but... there's always a "but", huh? Yeah, the boost function is neat, but doesn't seem to work as well w/ certain settings on the amps. That's why I think I should just put it aside if I'm not planning to use its OD and just get a dedicated boost pedal. Only have the FD-2 on the pedalboard when I want to use its own sounds.

It would be interesting to see how that Creation Labs boost compares to the Keeley Katana Boost and Xotic RC Boost, for the one application I'd use a boost pedal for - direct plugin to the power amp input, bypassing the preamp section for overdrive.

The RC Booster and Fulltone Fat Boost were the ones I've considered the most, but have not really tried them. I've put my FD-2 and HBE Big D for sale and if I sell them, I might try this Creation Audio thingamabob.
