revolead
I'm just curious about this. Most people I know drink coffee rather than tea, but tea seems to be making a comeback, especially here in Boulder, where Celestial Seasonings is located. My parents have drunk tea since at least I was born, but my grandparents are coffee people. I like both. Anyone have a preference? Any bean or leaf recommendations? Shut up and play. Danzilla
Tea. I like several varieties, but a white tea W/pear flavoring is a current favorite. I like a lot of teas, actually. Celestial Seasoning's Blueberry tea is a surprise favorite. Green tea, rooibos, herbal, mint... Irish breakfast tea, too! Not big on milk in my tea, unless it's a chai. Sugar's ok, but I usually have honey. I try to stay with caffeine free teas when possible; but a little bit is ok. I was caffeeine-free for a long time, but have moderated a bit. I'm weird about coffee. I like the smell; I like some coffee flavored things (Kahlua, coffee ice cream, certain candies). But I don't like drinking coffee. I've had about 6 cups my whole life. The first time I drank it was at midnight in a recording studio; needed to keep awake and warm before that next take. On my honeymoon, my wife and I went to New Orleans. We did the traditional coffee and beignet at Cafe Dumond- all the sugar on the beignet couldn't make that coffee palatable to us! Mudcat
Tea - In the winter it's Monk's Blend, hot with a touch of honey. In the summer it's Lipton, iced with lemon and sugar to the point just shy of inducing a diabetic coma. I've never been a fan of coffee as a beverage, but I do like Tirimisu for dessert and an occasional slab of country ham with red-eye gravy for breakfast. Mudcat's music on Soundclick "Work hard. The Big G
TEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its gotta be T, we built an empire out of it, leaf tea and a pot, most varietys of "brown" tea are pretty good for me, i drink a lot but also coffee is good but rots my stomach, so only the odd cup of filter coffee. Guitar Geezer
Two cups of coffee in the AM, drinking Ice Tea right now with lunch, (but that's another animal). Ususally don't drink hot tea unless I'm feeling under the weather, but a little Red Zinger in the Evening is nice in the cold months. miroslav
Wellare you talking "real" tea...or the herbal teas that can be made from just about anything these days...? I'm a coffee drinker on a daily basis...but, I do like teas (real and herbal)...and mostly in the winter time, I tend to enjoy the herbal teas in the evenings when I want something hot to drink but without the caffeine. The real tea I like from time to time....and always with lemon...NOT MILK (who the heck came up with THAT idea anyway????) miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important." Darcy H
At home; coffee...black and extremely strong, as I can't be fussed with making latte's at home. My wife is French and I spend alot of time in Europe, so I've come to love espressos and milk (not really partial to the foamed milk though, too fancy-pants for my taste) so I always order latte's when I'm out. This may be sacriledge for a Canadian, but I can't stand Tim Horton's Coffee, and there's one every 60 metres in Nova Scotia! www.myspace.com/darcyhoover

revolead
Wellare you talking "real" tea...or the herbal teas that can be made from just about anything these days...? Either or, I suppose. Though I'm not big on "herbal teas." The hippies around here wore that appeal out, plus, for 22 years, my parents have drunk pure leaf tea, and after tasting that compared to what comes in a baggie, there simply is no comparison. I'm partial to Irish Breakfast and Earl Grey, myself, but my dad makes a mean blend of vanilla and Earl Grey that is to die for. Shut up and play. Bejeeber
Tea. I actually try to consider health effects of stuff I consume, so I've been drinking organic green tea since it sure is getting a good rep (hype?) lately. I've degenerated into drinking organic black tea for it's caffeine the past couple weeks also though, just to be able work through the drowsiness. For pure flavor pleasure, there's nothiing like some good organic licorice herb tea. Wow! That stuff is so good and is another health booster. And here's another great tasting one I discovered inadvertently at a restaurant: squeeze some fresh lemon into a cup of peppermint tea. MAN that is good. Gruupi
All of the above. I drink 2-3 cups of coffee every day. The rest of the day I drink tea or water, well at least till after dark where I drink the good stuff if you know what I mean. I like all kinds of tea, mostly black varieties, but like green and herbal too if I have had enough caffiene that day. The best tea I have found is a brand called Stash, they have some wierd flavors but their Chai teas both green and black are excellent. mdrs
Hey Revo..good topic!! I will drink Coffee (Sumatra, by Starbucks...I get the whole bean, and grind it just before I brew...and I use a French press). I only have about 6 cups a week, and don't drink it on surgery days. Microsurgery requires STEADY HANDS!! I like so teas, too. I'll occasionally go thru periods where I drink more tea then coffee. There is a tea specialty house in NYC called the Tea Salon (I think), where we'll occasionally stock up on custom teas. They have some amazing different types of tea. I really like their Tibetan Tiger, which is a desert tea, meaning kind of sweet. They have all sorts of great teas. I've enjoyed Earl Grey, and many different green teas. There's one tea, I think it's from China, called "gun powder", and it's really good, and packs quite a kick! Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. A String
I'll drink either on occasion (not very often however). With tea, it has to be either Earl grey, or my personal favourite, Cylon tea (they are all good). Oh, and no milk in my tea, turns it into a horrid, dish water concoction and you lose the original flavour.
