Guitar55
Several months ago I wrote how I found out that the Epi SG 400 I bought for me son was defective. The pickups were misaligned so the strings did not pass over the pole pieces. I contacted Epi and they agreed to replace it. The first thing I noticed when we got the new guitar wa sthe weight difference. The first one had been extremely ligh and the new one weighed in at a hefty 9 lbs. I finally took it to my luthier for a set up. This guy, Steve Hayes, always does an incredible, high-quality job. He is extremely meticulous and goes over every detail of the guitar. Yesterday I picked it up and he told me that although he is not particulary fond of Epis, that this was a very solid, well-built guitar, which is quite a ringing endorsement form him. I guess we lucked out in the end. I asked my son if I could "borrow" it and tonight I'll use it on a gig. :-)
