Outlander Posted April 24, 2007 Share Posted April 24, 2007 Hi i recently bought some zon piccolo strings to turn my sx bass into a piccolo. i need a new nut with thinner slots. anyone know a good place to get a new piccolo nut for a 4 string? Paul K Posted April 24, 2007 Share Posted April 24, 2007 Before major surgery, you have nothing to lose by putting a drop or two of superglue in the nut slots, and then re-filing if needed. It worked for me on the advice of another Lowdowner. Damn. I've got to start remembering who it is that gives me this good advice on this list. jeremy c Posted April 24, 2007 Share Posted April 24, 2007 I put piccolo strings on my five string without doing anything to the nut and the bass worked fine. The bass is now back to its original configuration. It was fun playing piccolo for a while. I'm glad I didn't have to do any surgery on the bass. Free download of my cd!.
