EddiePlaysBass
Yes I did ... It's a god-awful 4/4 countrysong with only 4 chords and a dumb chorus ... but it's MINE I'm gonna tell the guitar player about it and see if he can get it worked out for next rehearsal. Then we'll either work on it or drop it altogether "I'm a work in progress." Micky Barnes The Ross Brown Shirt World Tour

butcherNburn
Good for you. I took the opposite approach. I wrote a lot of songs before I even picked up an instrument I cared about. If you think my playing is bad, you should hear me sing!

EddiePlaysBass
Well ... I was exchanging ideas with a former class mate during the train ride to work this morning. I gave the text to the guitar player and he read it aloud in front of some friends. Everyone loved it The guitarist asked if he could put music to it and I said that if he can pull it off, I'll try and write more lyrics and have him worry about the arrangements. I could live with that If it goes well, we might actually record it for our demo record in a few weeks !!! At which point I'll post a sample or something for all of you to listen to. I'm already curious about the direction it'll take because his vocal approach quite differed from mine, but I wanted to have him try out different options before force-feeding mine (which might not be the best one out there ) Thanks for all your support !! jeremy c
Wait a minute! You just wrote lyrics? That's only half a song.....c'mon, write the music too, we know you can do it! Go for it! Free download of my cd!.
EddiePlaysBass
Thanks Jeremy !! I realised that I can't play guitar anymore, which was a bit of a shocker. So I'm going to practise that a bit again, or pull a Steve Harris and start composing on bass I did write chord changes to it though, but I told the guitar player to do with them what he pleases. So technically, I did compose the whole enchilada "I'm a work in progress." Micky Barnes The Ross Brown Shirt World Tour
sduross
4/4 country can be a lot of fun to play...as long as it isn't all you play!
