rdepelteau
Classically trained, obviously. I guess that after you've won the best of everything piano, and get tired of playing Bach and Mozart, you start making real music. ;^)
Phil W
Hey Picker, justa thought, you should make the thread title more explanatory - I almost missed this. Great version. I love Hiromi's playing, she cracks me up too with her virtuosity. Her Cds are worth getting. Tony Grey is playing bass on this - http://www.tonygrey.com/ He has a solo album out now. Fascinating that he started playing bass while recovering from a broken back. He is a protegee of John McLaughlin's and there is a rumour that they might be related. http://philwbass.com

Bottomgottem
I've heard that Grey is actually McLaughlin's nephew. My whole trick is to keep the tune well out in front. If I play Tchaikovsky, I play his melodies and skip his spiritual struggle. ~Liberace
_Sweet Willie_
That's my understanding -- McL's nephew. I've listened to Grey's CD. It's good and he's clearly a fine player, but it wasn't really my cup of tea -- although a couple of tracks did grab me. Peace. --s-uu spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars.
