ToadMeister
Miles, When I plug a digital delay and a chorus pedal into the effects loop of my Rivera Clubster I get a noticeable drop in volume and clarity. It has a muffled quality to it. Almost like a heavy blanket over the speaker. Using the same guitar and cords I plug the same effects into my Mesa Boogie Mark III effects loop and I have no problems. I have new tubes in both amps. Any suggestions? Thanks, ToadMeister
Gifthorse
Try running the chorus through the front of the amp. Then try the delay in the loop. What delay is it? Go to the Ask Myles section. I would just call up the amp manufacturer and go sick on them. Just kiddin. Heh, don't go sick, but you know what I think I says.. http://flagshipmile.dmusic.com/ http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse
Billster
I'm not familiar with that amp, but does the loop have a send or return level? It seems like either the amp's loop out is not providing adequate level for the input of the effects unit, or the output of the effect is not providing enough level to the loop return. GovernorSilver
Could the battery in either pedal be going bad? This is why I like the idea of using a signal splitter and mixer - you have more control over what happens to your tone when you put stuff in your effects loop. With a splitter, you can run your unprocessed guitar sound in parallel with the processed guitar sound, and then with the mixer, mix unprocessed and processed signals back together in parallel.
