Kramer Ferrington III.
I've just found this site, it looks really good. When I'm playing, I don't take much time out to work out what I'm actually doing. It's just "that sort of C chord on the 10th fret". This site lets you plonk the notes on the on-screen fretboard and it tells you what chord you are playing. I'm sure there's other sites like this, but the chord sites I've seen so far work the other way around: you name a chord and the page illustrates it for you. Sometimes, it throws in the towel, but it looks pretty ok so far. Any mistakes that you guys can see? http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/chord_name.php Band MySpace My snazzy t-shirt empire
Scott Fraser
This site lets you plonk the notes on the on-screen fretboard and it tells you what chord you are playing. Any mistakes that you guys can see? It's pretty cool, but they should let you bias its determination. I gave it an odd, extended voicing I use in A a lot & it spelled it in G#. It was a correct spelling in G#, but when used in A it's something completely different. With jazz harmonies you really need to give it more information than just what notes to look at. They should have an option for "When played over X chord, this voicing becomes ..." Other than that, it seems like a cool tool. Might end up living on my desktop.
