Grease on My Guitar

Recommended Posts

I brought my guitar up to work on Friday. I let this one guy play it.

When he was done there was a big greasy smear on my guitar and it smelled like fried chicken.

The rest of the day I could not get rid of the smell.

I have two questions:

Can chicken grease permanently ruin the scent of a guitar?

Don't most people wash thier hands after eating fried chicken?

Btw: his new nick name is grease-finger. I actually think that would make a great name for a guitarist or band.

You mean there ISN'T a band called that already? Wow... It'd be a great name for a 70s classic rock type thing. But maybe I'm thinking of Chris Stainton and The Grease Band.

Nope. And most people don't wash their hands after going to the restroom.

Off-topic, but somewhat related in the sense it has to do w/ greasy food smells:

a couple weeks ago, a 17-year-old student walks into the studio, and ask for his guitar to tune it (I prefer to do it myself). Midway through it I go: "did you just have some McDonald's french fries?"... he replied: "wow, how did you know?"...

I think I can identify the smell of McDonald's and Pizza Hut's grease.

Pappy: was it Popeye's, Church's or KFC's?
