SilverDragonSoun
I am about to take the plunge and get a vsynth as some good opportunities have present themselves. My question is which way would you go, either option one or two. 1. V synth keyboard version 2 w/out any expansions and looks to be in good condition. The pros are no need for a controller and $200 cheaper than the XT. The drawback is no expansions, as I would really like the Vocal card expansion. 2. V synth XT-It already has both expansions and is the most current and has a little less use. The drawback is I would need to get a controller which equals more $ spent. Which way would you go if you had both these options? Begin the day with a friendly voice A companion, unobtrusive - Rush
wjwilcox
I'm not sure what the Vocal card goes for these days, but if it's less than a controller + $200, I'd go for option 1 and buy the Vocal card. However, if you plan to gig with the V-synth, option 2 might be worth the extra cash if you can find a satisfactory controller. The advantage would be two lighter pieces of gear to carry around if you don't mind the challenges of gigging with MIDI. www.wjwcreative.com www.linkedin.com/in/wjwilcox
keynote
Your call SDS. FWIW, you may want to wait for the V-Synth GT module to come out which no doubt will also have expansion slots. If you want a V-Synth now you would probably want to go with the the module since it has the Vocal card, which you are wanting anyway. So it sounds like you are already leaning towards the XT. Controllers are fairly inexpensive so that shouldn't be much of a concern for you financially. You will have two pieces of gear to lug around but the XT is light and wouldn't be much of a burden IMHO. Mike
SilverDragonSoun
Thanks for the reponses. The V-Synth GT will be out of my price range so that's why I'm going with the original V-synth. The vocal card is somehwat hard to find which is my primary concern iof I go with the keyboard. Since I'm working with a limited budget, this does factor in significantly. Both these options are contingent on current negotations that I'm trying to get into my price range. Its possible I may have one choice or neither. Alot is dependent on the sellers willingness to accept my price but the options abover are the two I'm looking at.
