Fumblyfingers
I was just listening to the Savoy Brown CD, Street Corner Talking. I used to play the title track in one of my first bands so the album has a certain nostalgic appeal for me. It is a good bluesy guitar album though. Solid riff blues, rude tones, good vocals. If you like Foghat you will like these guys. Anyone heard it?
Kramer Ferrington III.
No, I have never heard it. However, I really liked a song of their called "Train To Nowhere". Band MySpace My snazzy t-shirt empire
miroslav
Been a long time Savoy Brown fan! SB was one of my first introductions and influences to British Blues...even more so than Cream/Yardbirdsetc. Street Corner Talking is a real good album...a little more commercial than their earlier stuff. We use to do Tell Mamma off that album (I did the slide part). For some more edgier Savoy Browncheck out Looking In or "Raw Sienna"...there's some great guitar work on those albums. I also have "Hellbound Train" and "Lions Share". I always thought Kim Simmonds was one of the better blues guitar players NOT to become real famous. If you never heard any Savoy Brownthey are worth a serious listen! Savoy Brown was way better than anything Foghat ever did. Foghat was pure commercialized R&R/Blues...made up of some former Savoy Brown members. Kim Simmonds/Savoy Brown still play, and they make their way from Great Britain to this side of the Atlantic at least once a year. Looks like Simmonds/Savoy is now USA based...though the info on their website is not very spcific. Durockrolly
I just played "The Blues Keep me Holding On" yeaterday. A great band in my opinion. Fernando If you can't say it in 12 bars... then it can't be said!
BadLife
I had that album, kinda wondered why they never got bigger though. I used to do Tell Mama also, great band.

miroslav
Actually...Savoy Brown has had quite a loyal following for over 40 years! They just never went mainstream...which is what you got with Foghat (and where is Foghat today? ) Yes..."Sunday Night" is a great tune..! I also really like Poor Girl. Honestly...for anyone that really digs British Blues (or any style of blues/rock/boogie)...if you never checked out Savoy Brown, you don't know what you're missing! Kim Simmonds is an exceptional guitar player...one who has happily stayed close to his roots at the expense of mainstream fame and fortune. miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important."
