miroslav
So I have a couple of Canadian vendors on eBay that I'm getting some stuff from...and they just seem to hate replying to emails! One guy, I've already purchased from in the past...and they both have real good feedback...but man, I send 1-2-3-4-5 emails...and nothing! I even found the phone number for one of them...and I've talked to the guy a couple of times...and even mentioned to him that if he would just respond to my first email...I would not bother him with 4 more follow-ups...but he just gives me that famous Canadian "Eh" response. And the 1 or 2 times I've gotten an email...it's like a quick one-liner...even though I asked them 5 questions. It's a bit comical...but also a bit frustrating when you are trying to conclude a business transaction. So I was wondering if in general, Canadians are not very email conscious. miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important." Bluesape
We got 5 time zones here, Miro, and if they're small, older entities, on dial-up, email may still be a newfangled, unformed habit. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!

Hardtail
My favorite line from that movie was when Dave Thomas told Rick Moranis something like: Doug: When we go to prison, you're a cute little guy so they'll be loving you from dawn till dusk. Bob: What will you be doing? Doug: I'll be selling smokes in the cafeteria.

miroslav
I'll have to check the their time zones...but I figured after a couple of days of waiting....the time zones are not the issue. One thing at least...the products are and the deals are quite good over the border. I haven't been to Canada in quite a few years...but I always had a good time there in past trips....eh? miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important." Fumblyfingers
Not to hijack this thread but, anyone seen Blood Diamond? Di Caprio, who I have never really cared for in the past, did an amazing job. Played a South African really well. Miro, my overseas buddies and family are equally as lame in replying to E mails and also don't seem to read the whole thing because I will be lucky to get one of several questions answered. I gave up getting stressed about it. For one, many don't have the blazingly fast and stable hi speed we do. They are not on the computer that much so staying on top of e mails is not important to them, it seems to me. Also it is almost a sad testament to the speed at which we are getting used to living and interacting with others here in the US. It is too fast and I myself have been caught up in it for some years now. I have an Aunt and cousins in Canada and family in various countries who are appalled at how hard and long we work and that we are so "busy" all the time. I recall it being a much better pace in the Mid-West and when I was in the Bahama's and Hawaii I really enjoyed the laid back island speed. Perhaps this guy is also getting nailed with tons of e mail. I don't know, but I wouldn't stress it. Just use the phone again perhaps.

teleman65
Miro, Different people have different habits. Some don't think much of email(seems if you're going to be an eBay vendor you should think of it as customer service) I've purchased items from Americans and experienced the same thing as you. You need to find out some info and don't get a response. I personally find it frustrating but sometimes you just have to roll with it. I loved the part about f^%$g the dog LMAO...wasting time.....killed me! That is some serious South African slang I tossed in here bru's The first time I heard that expression, I was a teen recently moved to Canada, and my first instinct was to sequester my dog! There was a guy in Bowmanville, ON who was arrested for doing just that. A guy came home and saw his neighbour in the yard with the dog. Took pictures and gave them to the police. I can't imagine taking pictures if I saw someone committing such an act. http://www.soundclick.com/teleman
