$20 mod to my hydraulic press... PICTURE...

You remember... the one I bought for gluing up body tops and backs and such...

 

I have since made a simple $20 modification to the press to assure me that it cannot unload due to hydraulic "leakage"... I have replaced the hydraulic cylinder with a new automotive scissor jack which fits in there like it was made for it! I get plenty of load delivered quickly and it cannot unload during the glue curing process... Works fantastic! :)

Here's a pic of the press with the jack pressing a new top on a skeleton. I still keep peripheral clamps on just to be assured that pressure is uniform at the edges.
