Hardtail
Hey all... to make a long story short... I have to learn this tune quickly. Our good resident "doc" provided me this link last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaZHgkB_ypw&NR It sounds like the guy nails it but there's something about the verse I'm not getting a good feeling about. He simply repeats the progression over and over but I could have sworn, there's some kind of F-rooted chord in there somewhere along the way. Maybe it's just the bass player who plays it. Anyway, someone here will know, I'm sure.
Griffinator
Progression is dead on. I was kinda pissed that he didn't show us some chops on the back end... A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.

mdrs
The instructor's tone is not really where Clapton was at during the Cream era. This guy's tone is too tight....more like a HiWatt. Clapton was all PAF thru a cranked 100 watt plexi...which is more fuzzy, warm and humming....if ya know what I mean!! Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. Dr. Ellwood
YEAH! that's nothing like Claptons Plexi tone at all! and that guitar isn't helping it any. He should revisit that 9 chord too! it's NOT a 9 chord it's a 7th. but anyways he gets credit for liking that tune! http://www.thestringnetwork.com
mdrs
yea...it's a decent lesion....get one close anyway. Ellwood....you The Road Hogs have any back tracks of old Cream??? Dr. Ellwood
No Doc we didn't do any! I wish we did, maybe I can talk them into doing some, we still have some time left in that studio, might be a good use of it! What would like to have covered if we did??? http://www.thestringnetwork.com

I'm one of those old farts who still think there's only 2 guitar companies on the planet. ... and proud of it.

Zephyr
I always learned that EC does the intro bit as triads, using the E,B, and G strings. Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=810593 http://www.myspace.com/dandelavega
Squ
Well the intro is harmonized single notes, multitracked. You can't really do it quite the same on one guitar live, so playing the chords is almost all you can do. We can debate about the voicing though. And yes, I agree that this dudes tone is so far away from Clapton's. Way too much crunch. Red Red Rockit
