Griffinator
Yikes. You traded a reasonably well-built (Schecter) guitar for a flimsy Korean (Kramer) mess? Good luck with that, bro. Hope you checked that neck before you made the swap. Take it to the local guitar shop and get someone to set it up for you. Strings? Well, whatever your flavor, dude. A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.
BillWelcome Home Studios
Others may dissagree, but to my tastes Kramer is like a 'flavor of the month' guitar. You pick it up, you like it well enough, but within a month you're bored and looking for something else. A lot of what seemed to me to be good products fell into this category.... Hamer and Peavey, Heartfield, come to mind. Bill "I believe that entertainment can aspire to be art, and can become art, but if you set out to make art you're an idiot." Xplorer
I'd like to see the new Kramer you got... Got any pics or modle info so we can look it up? How do you like the Floyd? There are some good websites that will show you how to set-up your bridge properly. What a horrible night to have a curse.
BillWelcome Home Studios
did you say Hamer Bill? or did you mean Kramer? I said the others (including Hamer,) did the same things for me... nice axes that I got bored with quickly, even though they felt okay, looked nice, sounded okay, and I could not put my finger on what it was that caused me to walk away from them. TimEm
Well... Now, are we talking about a new Kramer or a used one? While I do agree with Bill that they're kind of a one trick pony/flavor of the month guitar... There were some pretty solid american built models floating around in the 80's. I still have a Kramer Baretta I pull out every now and again that's solid as a rock and the floyd will stay in tune forever. It's fun for a while but it never stays out of the case very long - Floyds aren't really my thing. Especially if you break a string in the middle of something important... I'm sure you'll figure out why when you change strings. But yeah... Let's see some pics and hear more details about this here trade! Go that way really fast. If something gets in your way, turn. GuitarPlayerFL
Griff, to the best of my knowledge Schecters are korean made as well. Not counting electronics, but the Asian built (Samick, ESP, Ibanez) guitars are far superior to product from Gibson. Peavey and Carvin make some fine instruments in America today, but Gibson quality now is like what Japanese guitars were in the 60s. The guitars at the NAMM booth this year were horrible. I wouldn't blow off an Asian guitar. A Jazz/Chord Melody Master-my former instructor www.robertconti.com (FKA GuitarPlayerSoCal)

Since Kramer killed their US line back in the early 80's, their axes have been, at best, a crapshoot... A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends. skipclone 1
There are some insanely nice Asian guitars around these days, many of them coming from right here. Have a look at Fujigen, Sugi and Killer. Same old surprises, brand new cliches- Skipsounds on Soundclick: www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandid=602491
Guitarzan
Fujigen just plain rocks, they are responsible for alot bitchin guitars. i have high respect for Asian makes. i have owned many Yamaha's that were immaculate. and the ESP made body and neck on my 87 "American" Kramer is 100% top notch. Korean axes are darn solid and no longer "cheap". if i pick up a korean axe and see less than perfect fretwork for 500 bucks i think "so what it is a good deal" but if i pick up a (big brand name here) guitar for 2000 bucks and find rough fret ends and sloppy finish i am appalled. i am not a brand name worshipper but i do respect quality. you can still buy top quality northamerican guitars for awesome prices. they have Godin on the headstock. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
