zahush76
this is a bit strange. nove musik are offering a bundle consisted of a MEK + PER for the price of 2399$ which is exactly as the PEK costs. http://www.novamusik.com/search.aspx?type=Manufacturer&keyword=50 so... why should anyone get the PEK if he can get 5 voices for the same money? zahush76
this must sound stupid, but i think you can poly chain the mek to the per - and then connect the mek to a larger keyboard you already have via midi. you control the sound from the mek's interface, but play it from any keyboard you like, if length of the keyboard is the issue. and then you get the evolver sound over 5 voice polyphony, plus an arpeggiator (which the pek does not yet have). So which one are you going to buy? The PEK has several benefits over the rig you describe: - 61 keys with probably the best synth action on the planet (I think it is the Fatar TP-9, IIRC)...MEK has a different action. - More knobs than MEK - More UI controls than MEK (e.g. number pad) - More blinking lights than MEK - Clear backlit wheels - Less gear fussing - all in one package rather than 3 separate pieces of gear in your scenario above While your point about 5 voices vs. 4 is valid, the PEK is the flagship in this boutique line of great synths. 4 Evolver voices go a long way and there are the other nice items in the PEK to warrant its price. Remember too that these are MAP prices and you could probably negotiate either package.
zahush76
So which one are you going to buy? . at the moment none - because you already know i don't have the money. my intension was only to notify people on this forum that there's a deal that i thought would interest some people. after that came the question, because as i recall, this combination of mek+per is supposed to be 150$ more than the pek. oh boy... i'd end up selling my wife...
