fjzingo
Hello I've tried to send the hammond sound through output 3 of my nord stage to my leslie 2101, the gain was a bit to low so I used my Summit audio 2BA-221+ TLA 50 to increase the signal whilst warming it up. I don't wan't to bring those out of my studio for live use, so I was wondering if anybody using a simpler tubepreamp warming up the signal before running it through a leslie? experiences? Would a simple preamp like Behringer TUBE ULTRAGAIN MIC200 do the trick? /Fred /Fred Cantaloop Soulfetch Soulbox

eric
Try Speakeasy Vintage Music. They make numerous tube preamps. Very nice products.
ProfD
Before you cop a preamp, check the output gain structure of the Nord Stage. Is each output equally set? Otherwise, a simple preamp will do the job. I don't know that you want to mention B around here though. PD "The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return."--E. retrokeys
Before you invest in a volume boost make sure your leslie 21 inputs are set right. If you are running through the bottom, 2121, the input there can be configured for line or mic. I discovered that my nord electro sounds better through the mic setting Go figure. Anyway check it out. Also, see if the nord has some sort of internal output adjust. A leslie 21 system should have more than enough gain for all but the foolhardy. fjzingo
Thanks for the comments: eric: I've got the suitcase vintage tube preamp from speakeasy and it makes my rhodes sound great in worst case I could use that. It's quite expensive to import stuff from the states and I was aiming for something cheaper. ProfD: Perhaps I'm wrong here but I don't think you can affect the gain for the individual outputs, only how much you send to it from each section, in this case the organ section? B is of course not the only option and I'm open to suggestions. What's the problem with B and this forum? retrokeys: I only have the 2101, if I buy the 2121 that is a good suggestion. /Fred /Fred Cantaloop Soulfetch Soulbox
