kudyba
I'm pretty sure this isn't just my cable system but almost every time I tune it to the Bet on Jazz channel the sound quality is TERRIBLE. I uslaly have to crank it up so loud just to hear anything. God forbid there's a (upright) bass solo. Forget about it. Also, for the past couple of months I've noticed that even the video quality has this occasional "pixelation" (for lack of a better term) where parts of the screen seem to almost "warp" and for a second you see these strange colors and almost a bending of the picture. That channel does have some really cool stuff on occasion. Just today I was watching a 1981 Muddy Waters performance that was just too cool but almost unwatchable due to the "effect". But where else can you see Trane, Parker, and Duke? So my only choice is to put up with it...let me know if you guys experience the same thing--that is if you even have the station...maybe I should visit their web site and send them this note... Submersible
Do you have digital cable? Everything looks that crappy on digital cable...
thoughtintruder
Sure doesn't help Jazz reach a wider audience when you can't hear it. That's what I think is the problem with a lot of jazz these days. It has to compete with other types of music that come in loud and clear. And I'm not talking just about a tv channel, even at clubs the sound usually tends to be horrible.
