superdave
Is the melody of a song the part that the vocals stay in sync with or maybe the main body of a song? What is the bridge in a song? I guess what I'm asking is how are these parts arranged in a song or instrumental piece? Again, I'm sorry if this is a dumb question and maybe it should be obvious to me but I'm not clear how they all fit together.
miroslav
The melody is the central theme of any song. It can be conveyed by voice or instrument...and if by voice, it is often doen with lyrics...though it can be just sung notes too. The bridge...? Where's that confounded bridge...??? The bridge is a transitional part of a song...it serves to bring you from one to the other...hence the name "bridge"...it can be almost anything.... ..though you don't always have a bridge in your typical pop/rock song. Most pop songs will follow some derivative of the following structure: Intro Verse Chorus Bridge Verse Chorus Not all the elements are needed (Intro, Bridge...or even Chorus can be omited, though rare)... ...and some can be repeated as needed in most any order that you like... ...you are the songwriter. miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important."
