It was a outstanding show.

Robert Cray opened; joining clapton on guitar were derek trucks and doyle bramhall.

they played so many great tunes, layla, old love (w/ cray) after midnight, cocaine, further on up the road, I shot the sheriff....

crossroads was the encore and cray came back to jam

If I could see them again on this tour I would in a second. Anyone else going to see them?

I've seen him twice - always a great show. Bonnie Raitt opened for him last time I saw him, and she was more engaging and animated. He seemed perplexed - he had just located his father, and the tour was perhaps a hindrance at the time. I believe it was sponsored by Lexus.

"Old Love" was beautifully, hauntingly done - the high point of the performance for me.

Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!

Yes, Old Love was an amazing point in the concert. It must have been at least 12 min.

They also did a great acoustic set with songs inc. "Back Home", "Nobody Knows You..." and "Running on Faith"

Further On Up the road was probably the high point for me. A straight up blues jam great.

pollock: Yeah, I saw Clapton a couple of times. He was with a new band called Cream. Does that give away my age? They were unbelievable. They had the biggest influence on me probably more than any other. If you don't have it, you need to hunt down "John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton". Still some of Eric's best work. IMO.

I saw Cream back in the day. They played great, but the venue, the Veteran's Memorial Auditorium, was perfect for basketball games and livestock shows, but crappy for music! Most of the time, in spite of the big amps he had, I couldn't hardly hear Clapton! But Bruce and Baker played their butts off.....

ellwood: Thank's Bud. I saw him back in the day, at the Santa Monica Civic, and Rick Derringer was on 2nd guitar and Edgar played keys. They were frickin' great.

I checked out your web site, you guys play my kind of music. :thu: Later.

That's one thing I forgot to mention. The sound on saturday was absolutly perfect...I don't know how it could have been better. I'm trying to figure if I can go to Chicago this wednesday and see them again.... :D
