Hardtail
It would have been really cool if they had a white one with a maple neck like mine. I got him the black one. He can do the Clapton thing and I'll do the Jimi thing.
mdrs
SWEETNESS TIMES TWO You should put his Strat into an open tuning, so he could just put his fingers across a fret and make a chord!! Or, maybe he could simply hold a slide across a fret and play chords right away??? Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. Big Red 67
They seem to work best tuned in A! And don't use the term "real guitar". Big Red's Ride Blog
Pappy P
Good Choice. Please convey my birthday wishes to your son. Hey, let's all chip in to buy the kid a monster amplifier too. www.birdblues.com My Stuff On Sound Click
LPCustom
That's a great prezzy, Keith. I'm sure he'll love it. I have a Fender Strat Junior that is almost identical to one of those. I like it a lot. It plays and sounds great. The Squier is probably a great little player, too. What are you going to string it with? 8's or 9's? I can't imagine a 6 year old being able to handle more than that (at first, at least). Did you get him his own amp? Born on the Bayou
Hardtail
I have lots of 9s for my own guitars (after I exhaust the supply, I may start using 10s) so I may try those. Don't have an amp for him. If I hadn't traded in my other one for the HRD, he'd have one. I'll just pick up something used and cheap or let him play through my amp once in awhile. Gifthorse
Nice. You should give it to him for his Bday, then show him the Who video where they break all their guitars on stage. Then do that to the guitar you just bought in front of him. Tell him you gave him a much needed lesson in rock 'n' roll for his Bday. HAHA, just kiddin nice gift. http://flagshipmile.dmusic.com/ http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse
